Text Me Healthy: Support for NWT Women After Cancer

The NWT Breast Health/Breast Cancer Action Group is offering a new program to support NWT women after cancer treatment. Text Me Healthy offers a free text messaging program for NWT women over the age of 18 who have completed treatment for breast, lung, ovarian, cervical and colorectal cancer in the past 10 years. The program is designed to offer support and guidance for individuals post-cancer treatment, an area of cancer health care where survivors are often left feeling on their own. The program offers support, reliable information and advice through text message in topic areas such as mental health, physical activity, healthy eating and general wellbeing.

The Text Me Healthy program has been developed under a Research License from the Aurora Research Institute, in partnership with the University of Sydney (Australia) and supported by HotiƬ ts’eeda. If you are a woman 18 years and over with your own cell phone (or access to one through a family member or friend), have completed treatments for the cancers listed above within the last 10 years and want to register for this 3-month program, please contact the NWT Project Coordinator at info@breasthealthnwt.ca
